Play For The Kids™
Play For The Kids™ is a signature fundraising activity that unites Four Diamonds supporters nationwide to help conquer childhood cancer.
As you commit to playing and raising funds, you’re supporting Four Diamonds’ goal of giving hope to children and families fighting cancer everywhere.
The funds raised through Play For The KidsTM are used to provide superior care, comprehensive support and innovative research to our Four Diamonds families.
This program culminates in celebration in the month of September—Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
Why We Play
While undergoing cancer treatment, children are often unable to do many of the “normal” things kids love to do. Their intense treatments can cause them to lose their appetite and their strength to move around and play with their friends. Because of this, children will often miss out on their favorite foods, activities and sports during treatment.
Play For The Kids™ wants to help change this. By playing to raise awareness and donations, you’re helping these children get back to having fun and being a kid again.
Four Diamonds
Four Diamonds’ mission is to conquer childhood cancer. Since 1972, Four Diamonds has helped 4,800+ children and families by covering 100 percent of medical bills for every Four Diamonds family and supporting a robust pediatric cancer research program at Penn State Health Children's Hospital and Penn State College of Medicine.
Penn State THON™
THON™ is a student-run philanthropy committed to enhancing the lives of children and families impacted by childhood cancer. THON’s mission is to provide emotional and financial support, spread awareness and ensure funding for critical research, all in pursuit of a cure. THON’s yearlong efforts benefit Four Diamonds and culminate in a 46-hour no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon held annually at Penn State University Park.
*You can choose to have the funds you raised through Play For The Kids directly benefit Four Diamonds or support THON (and included in THON’s announced total). New for this year, donations raised starting July 1, 2023 to support THON, can be credited towards the THON org/club of your choosing!
